Archaeological Walk

Step back in time as you explore the ancient Maya city of Chan Chich, meaning Little Bird, on a guided walk through the archaeological site that surrounds the lodge.

Led by one of our resident guides, this fascinating tour begins in the Main Plaza, once the ceremonial heart of the city and believed to have served as a Maya ball court. From there, you'll continue to the Upper Plaza, where you'll gain a unique perspective from within several historic looters' trenches. A powerful reminder of the importance of preserving Belize's cultural heritage.

Along the way, your guide will share stories of the people who once lived here, offering insights into Maya architecture, daily life, medicinal plants, traditions, and the significance of the structures that remain hidden beneath the forest canopy.

Standing among these ancient ruins, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Maya Forest, is an experience unlike any other in Belize.
